The course is for UK and international graduates who plan to follow or develop a career in English language teaching. No previous experience of teaching is necessary. On this course you learn about language and how to describe and analyse it. You also learn to become a critically reflective English language teacher with practical skills such as lesson planning, material evaluation and classroom management. As well as studying key issues in TESOL, you develop observation and research skills, independence and team skills. Our course also offers language and research skills classes specifically focused on helping MA TESOL students develop their academic reading and writing. The course emphasizes the following key principles: practice based learning ; reflective practice; core subject knowledge; developing academic literacies; research and development skills.
