Anthropology and Gaelic Studies at Aberdeen is a great study combination, adding to your existing grounding in what it means to ‘be human’. With a special focus on the people of the north, you will undertake and in-depth study of Gaelic, Scotland’s oldest living language, and its origins and culture. The language, perspective and skills you will develop will open up a wide range of career options with an international flavour.
Students are assessed by any combination of three assessment methods: Coursework such as essays and reports completed throughout the course. Practical assessments of the skills and competencies they learn on the course. Written examinations at the end of each course. The exact mix of these methods differs between subject areas, years of study and individual courses. Honours projects are typically assessed on the basis of a written dissertation.

In Arts and Social Sciences: Students with overall scores of 80% and above in the Senior High School Diploma will be considered for entry. Alternatively, good scores in the GAOKAO will also be considered. Science: Students with overall scores of 80% and above in the Senior High School Diploma will be considered for entry. Students must score 80% or above in two science subjects. Alternatively, good scores in the GAOKAO will also be considered. Engineering: Students with overall scores of 80% and above in the Senior High School Diploma will be considered for entry. Students must score 80% or above in Maths and Physics science subjects. Alternatively, good scores in the GAOKAO will also be considered. Law: Students with overall scores of 85% and above in the Senior High School Diploma will be considered for entry. Alternatively, good scores in the GAOKAO will also be considered.
