Introduction The MSc in People and Environment draws on the expertise of leading anthropologists to develop an understanding of the human dimensions that are inherent in all environmental issues. The programme focuses on areas such as conservation, landscape, human-animal relations and indigenous rights, and is designed to furnish students with an informed and nuanced understanding of the issues. More than this, it also examines and questions the underlying assumptions about the inevitability of human behaviour, about how we perceive and relate to non-humans, about our place within the world. Graduates of the programme will thus be able to contribute to environmental issues and debates from a position that is knowledgeable, distinctive and critical.
