This course provides you with an opportunity to achieve an MSc in Leadership and Innovation within 12 months. The programme is intended to develop your knowledge and skills relating to leadership and professional practice across a broad range of contexts including education, community work, policing, social work and human services. You will be able to collaborate with students from other related courses (MSc Community Learning and Development and MSc Advanced Social Work Studies) to allow you to learn from others and develop a broad and critical understanding of your chosen area of study. Our enthusiastic and experienced team, who are drawn from a range of disciplines and areas of expertise including leadership, design thinking social work, organisational culture and research methods, will deliver the course. The inclusion of design thinking to the curriculum is unique and provides you with a new way of approaching and understanding challenges in the workplace and professional practice. This diverse range of expertise is a key strength of this programme the University of Dundee. You will develop and apply research skills in order to produce your master’s level dissertation. You will be able to explore and examine issues and topics which are of particular interest to you. We will guide and support you at all points. The course values the knowledge and experience that you will bring and is designed to allow a great deal of choice and flexibility for you to choose a route and focus which will best serve your interests and aspirations. This course will prepare you to understand and undertake leadership roles (at all levels) within your chosen career. This may be across a range of contexts including education, social work, community learning and development, public services and policing.
