.The Health Foundation Year offers an opportunity for students to enter a degree course in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences who do not meet the necessary criteria for direct entry. This is often because they have not studied the subjects required or because they have gained non-traditional qualifications. The course will provide you with the requisite science knowledge, enhance your study skills and give you an introduction to the employability skills required by health professionals.This single honours course has been developed to provide you with an understanding of health and wellbeing in its broadest concept and to answer questions that are raised every day in the media and in our own experiences. For example, what does health mean to different people and how is it exhibited? What affects our health and wellbeing and how do we shift to healthier individuals, communities and societies? As well as why are there differences in health across the world?Keele’s Health and Wellbeing course is aimed at individuals who have a keen interest in health and wellbeing and want to build a rewarding career where they can help and promote health and wellbeing within different groups of people, or where having an understanding of the issues affecting our health are important.We are proud to have been awarded Gold in the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) 2017; you will benefit from frequent support from experienced tutors and academics.You will understand and study contemporary issues throughout the four key themes of the course: Academic, Personal and Professional Development, Health and Wellbeing, Science of Health and Research.A blended approach to teaching and learning will allow you to develop your technical skills, theoretical understanding and opportunities to tailor your focus in the third year with an elective module. At Keele, we provide you with in-depth tutor support, to suit your needs, in a variety of areas including academic and employability; to ensure you receive the help needed to excel in your studies.Gaining your BSc Health and Wellbeing opens a diverse range of career opportunities. Paths you might take after graduating could span across sectors such as education, health, not-for-profit organisations and the leisure industry. Students may even have interest to go on to study at MSc level for example the Adult Nursing MSc, offered within the School of Nursing and Midwifery at Keele.Teaching will be delivered by experts at Keele School of Nursing and Midwifery, based at the Clinical Education Centre within the University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust, as well as the main Keele campus where you will be part of our small, friendly and cosmopolitan community.**Course Start Date:** Monday 24 September 2018**Enrolment Date:** Saturday 22 September 2018
