This programme combines the study of criminology with the study of psychology and allows you to explore the unique aspects of two complementary subjects whose practitioners increasingly share ideas, approaches and research interests. The programme is accredited by the British Psychological Society.  At each level you will study modules from our Criminology and Psychology degrees. The degree provides you with the criminological skills to analyse and research the complexities of criminal behaviour and the workings of the criminal justice system. The degree also develops in-depth knowledge and understanding of the major perspectives and issues within psychology, e.g., abnormal psychology, cognitive psychology, developmental psychology and social psychology. This theoretical knowledge will be applied to a range of criminological and psychological contexts. Students will be able to develop their interests within the specialised fields of criminology and psychology and other related disciplines. Employability is embedded into modules from the first year onwards and right from the first lecture. We explain the degree skills which are taught throughout the modules and offer a number of optional employability modules. The skills you will acquire are in high demand. Our degrees are a passport to vocational and non-vocational careers alike, with recent graduates employed in education, local or regional government, social work, international organisations, the third sector and the media.
