This course is designed to prepare you for a career in the automotive sector, whilst maintaining the broad based engineering background associated with Mechanical Engineering. Specialist and compulsory modules cover Fundamentals of vehicle design, Vehicle dynamics, Structural design, Automotive propulsion, Engine tribology, Automotive electronics and control, Racecar Aerodynamics, Materials for transport applications and Advanced Management. In the third and fourth years you will participate in individual and group projects, which includes the option of participating in the Formula Student group design project. The teaching is structured on a semester pattern. You study modules comprising 120 credits in each of Parts I (level C), II (level I) and III (level H), and 150 credits in Part IV (level M).
