The Doctor of Clinical Dentistry (Oral Medicine) will develop your skills in the non-surgical management of the full range of oral diseases as well as for the care of medically compromised patients in hospital and non-hospital settings. As an oral medicine student, you will learn about the diagnosis and non-surgical treatment of diseases of the oral mucosa and salivary glands, facial pain and oral manifestations of systematic diseases such as HIV. You will gain an understanding of the oral health care needs of medically compromised patients, including transplant recipients, in close cooperation with the medical and surgical units of Westmead Hospital. Diagnostic oral and general pathology form integral parts of the course. You will also complete a research project in the field of oral medicine and oral pathology under the supervision of an academic staff member. Why study oral medicine here? Graduate opportunities This course is aimed at dental graduates preparing for a career in clinical oral medicine. Graduates will be prepared for the full scope of specialist practice ranging from that in a large general hospital to private practice.

为来自中国的学生设计 To apply for a PhD, you need to demonstrate sufficient prior research experience and capability. In most cases, you will have either: a bachelor's degree with first or upper second class honours or a master's degree performed at a high academic standard, and which includes a substantial component of research; an equivalent qualification that demonstrates research experience, excellence and capability. English Language Requirements: TOEFL - IBT score: A minimum result of 85 overall including a minimum result of 17 in Reading, Listening and Speaking and 19 in Writing; IELTS score: A minimum result of 6.5 overall and a minimum result of 6.0 in each band; TOEFL - PBT score: A minimum result of 565 overall including a minimum result of 4.5 in Writing. 国际学生入学条件 A successful applicant for admission to the Doctor of Clinical Dentistry (Oral Medicine) will hold a Bachelor of Dentistry, Doctor of Dental Medicine or Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Sydney or equivalent institution; or an equivalent qualification that is recognised by the Australian Dental Board (Limited Registration for postgraduate training/supervised practice) and with a curriculum acceptable to the faculty. Applicants must demonstrate commitment to the particular specialty that they are applying for, such as through participation in short courses or continuing education programs aligned to that particular specialty. In addition to these criteria, admission to this course requires: at least two years general dental practice; completion of the primary Fellowship Examination of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons or its equivalent is desirable; all applicants must be registered with the Australian Dental Board for practice (limited registration for international candidates) prior to admission to the program. TOEFL - IBT score: A minimum result of 96 overall including a minimum result of 23 in Reading, Listening and Speaking and 25 in Writing IELTS score: A minimum result of 7.0 overall and a minimum result of 7.0 in each band TOEFL - PBT score: A minimum result of 592 overall including a minimum result of 5.0 in Writing
