Our research degrees provide training in specific research methodologies. There are opportunities for both full-time and part-time research. In addition to our formal research degrees, applications are accepted for shorter periods where a contribution can be made to one of our research themes, giving the opportunity for development of research skills. Those registered for formal research degrees also have the opportunity for formal generic training in research skills, provided within the college.

Students should have a good first degree from a recognised institution, with minimum grades of between 80-85%. This is the University’s general minimum requirement but some programmes may have specific qualification requirements as well. Entry requirements vary from course to course and in cases there is also variation in the standards required for entry to certain courses. Courses in great demand are likely to require higher entry grades.
