This programme is for individuals who wish to develop their experience and practice in the production of complex electronic music and performance as a DJ. It provides the music industry with performers who have an extended repertoire of DJ and electronic music production skills to perform competently and creatively. Course Content Performance DJ/EMP Performance Electronic Music Production1 Electronic Music Production 2 DJ/EMP Technology DJ/EMP Music Theory Contextual Studies Creative Arts Industry Studies Graduates will be able to: Apply DJ and electronic music production techniques and processes to produce complex electronic music Apply a range of sound and electronic music hardware and software to produce complex electronic music Apply music and sonic theory to create and produce complex electronic music. Perform as a DJ to competently and creatively engage an audience Create and produce complex electronic music and other sound-related works Apply research and analytical skills to inform own practice Manage and take responsibility for own professional practice Analyse characteristics of the DJ and electronic music industry to develop own career plan Satisfactory Completion To successfully complete and be awarded the New Zealand Diploma in DJ and Electronic Music Production (Level 5) students must complete the prescribed programme of study and attain a minimum of 120 credits.
