Coursework option: This 180-point programme will take you three to four trimesters of full-time study. If you’re studying part time it usually takes six trimesters. Thesis option: This 120-point programme will take you 12 months to complete full time, or one and a half to two years part time. You must take at least 90 points of research. This means you'll complete a research thesis made up of a literature review, data collection and analysis, and your findings. A thesis is usually 30,000–40,000 words. Workload If you are studying full time, you can expect a workload of 40–45 hours a week for much of the year. Doing a PhD If you're thinking of doing a PhD after completing your Master's degree, you're recommended to include the 90-point thesis in your course of study.
