These one-on-one lessons are conducted in a range of modes including video technology, allowing you to study with some of the best teachers in the country no matter where you are studying. You will also study units in music theory, music history and music technology to prepare you thoroughly for a career in music performance or for further post-graduate studies in education and performing arts.Music StudiesIf you choose to undertake the Music Studies major you will focus on the historical, theoretical and cultural contexts of western music and classical, jazz or contemporary popular music. You will have the flexibility to tailor your studies to your own timetable using the comprehensive online resources provided for each of your units. You will also have the opportunity to study units in music theory, composition and arranging, music history and music technology to prepare you thoroughly for a career in music or for further post-graduate studies in education and performing arts. This major may be suitable if you would like to study a general music course by online study.PerformanceThis major has a strong practical focus and enables you to develop knowledge and practical experience through performance (vocal or instrumental) or composition in a wide variety of music styles. These include two core music units and a specialisation. Under the specialisation, 22 units need to be completed for this course.
