This program is for high achieving students who have completed the Bachelor of Regional and Town Planning, and who want to undertake advanced study and a research project in Year 4. Learn to balance the competing priorities for development with preservation of the natural environment, and gain the necessary skills to plan cities and regional towns. Study key areas of successful development, including land use, transport, infrastructure, and urban design alongside real estate markets, investment, sustainability, community consultation, and strategic long-term town planning. Undertake planning projects that emphasize planning theory and design skills. You will work with industry, government and community partners on long-range planning and legislative frameworks on real-life developments. Career outcomes Graduates are valued by employers for their breadth of knowledge and skills, and their ability to make environmentally, socially and economically sustainable decisions. Urban development is one of the largest employers in the Australian economy, and there is a diversity of roles available for graduates, across both the public and private sectors. These include roles in: Urban design Statutory planning Strategic planning Regional development Environmental management and monitoring Planning technology Spatial planning Commercial and industrial development Engineering and architectural firms Heritage and conservation Land-use planning Planning law and practice Resource management Social planning Tourism Transport and infrastructure planning Program structure The courses offered in the Bachelor of Regional and Town Planning (Honours) are set out in the course list. Academic minimum entry requirements for international applicants vary from country to country. For more details, please visit university site. English language requirements: IELTS: Overall Band Score of 6.5 and a minimum score of 6 in each sub-band of Writing, Reading, Speaking and Listening; or TOEFL (Internet-Based-iBT): Overall score 87 with a Writing score of 21 and Reading, Speaking and Listening scores of 19; or TOEFL (Paper-based): Overall score of 570 and a minimum score of 5.0 in the Test of Written English (TWE) and 54 in Listening and Reading; or PTE: Overall score of 64 with 60 in each communicative skills section; or CAE/CPE: Overall Cambridge English Scale (CES) score of 176 with a minimum score of 169 in each skill; or BEP: A minimum overall grade of 4 plus a minimum grade of C in all four macro skills. 国际学生入学条件 An applicant must have completed years 1 to 3 of the Bachelor of Regional and Town Planning at UQ and have a GPA of 5.5; and satisfy the Executive Dean and Head of School that the applicant is qualified for admission.
