Our partnerships with Barwon Health, St John of God Hospital, and other healthcare providers also provide excellent work placement and employment opportunities. The course covers anatomy and physiology, communication skills, medical terminology, infection control, legal and ethical issues associated with nursing, nursing patients with complex needs, administering medications, and nursing patients with mental health needs. Work placement/industry experience This course includes 400 hours (11 weeks) of placement including morning/afternoon shifts. Placement is organized by The Gordon and completed Monday to Friday in week-long blocks. You may be required to travel to your work placement, please consider this before applying. While on placement, you will be required to wear your Gordon shirt, blue or black pants and comfortable, enclosed shoes. How often do I attend?
