Are you a problem-solver who loves teamwork and excels at communication? CSU's Bachelor of Communication (Advertising) is a dynamic course that prepares you for the world of advertising. The course has a global communication perspective, where national borders are often irrelevant and audiences are fluid and changeable. An advertising course with CSU will equip you with skills in strategic planning, research and client management, in addition to the creative, media and channel communication skills required to be a sought-after graduate. You'll gain extensive hands-on experience working in our on-campus student communications agency, Kajulu Communications, where you will collaborate on projects for real, paying clients. Course highlights Studying advertising with CSU will give you direct access to the latest industry tools, an award-winning on-campus agency, and you'll be supported by award-winning lecturers. Gain extensive practical experience You will work with real clients in Kajulu Communications, CSU's award-winning student advertising agency. Kajulu teams have won eleven of the past fourteen International Advertising Association's Big Idea titles since the inception of the competition in 2003, with Kajulu Red taking the title in 2016. You will have access to the latest in both theoretical and practical learning The course is led by a highly experienced and award-winning team who offer expertise in multi platform communication and the variety of digital media options available to advertisers today. Access the latest equipment, technology and techniques on campus Our facilities include CSU's student communications agency, a community radio station, a multi-function television studio, multimedia production facilities and fully equipped computer labs. Receive accreditation respected by the industry The course is one of only a few Australian degrees with accreditation from the International Advertising Association. Get hands-on experience locally, nationally or internationally Standard internships in agencies are offered for four weeks; however, longer internships in international environments may also be offered. Career opportunities Your creative problem-solving skills, coupled with the latest business knowledge will set you on your way to a broad range of career opportunities in the expanding advertising and communication industry. Digital Be at the forefront of digital innovation in advertising working at a digital or interactive agency or within a social media department. Explore opportunities in planning, creating and managing advertising content in multi platform environments. Media and publishing You will be in high demand across media and publishing industries as a media planner or buyer, from television and radio stations to newspapers, magazines and online publishers and experiential agencies. Advertising, marketing and communication management You will be primed to take up an advertising role across any one of a range of organisations, including advertising agencies, marketing companies, advertising departments and marketing divisions in corporations or organisations, and direct response, sales promotion or other consultancies.
