The Certificate IV consists of coursework and assessment. In a typical week students are accountable for up to 30 hours of supervised training through course work. This course equips students with basic hospitality management and operations skills, enabling you to take on the role as a skilled, well-rounded hospitality professional. The course is made up of a combination of coursework and assessment. By the end of the program graduates will be able to work independently or with limited guidance from others and use discretion to solve non routine problems. The programme consists of 50% class work (knowledge and skills development) and 50% working in the Hotel (gaining practical knowledge and skills). Students will work on a rotation basis to gain vital practical skills and knowledge in the industry. This qualification reflects the role of skilled operators who use a broad range of hospitality skills combined with sound knowledge of industry operations. They operate independently or with limited guidance from others and use discretion to solve non-routine problems. Many individuals have supervisory responsibilities and plan, monitor and evaluate the work of team members.
