This major will provide graduates with a depth and breadth of understanding of economics in the context of agricultural production systems. Students will study subjects in economics, resource and farm management, and value chain analysis. Graduates of this major will be well equipped to analyse agricultural systems from an economic perspective, and provide advice on management decision making. In the Agricultural Economics major you will study economics, resource and farm management, and value chain analysis. You will be well equipped to analyse agricultural systems from an economic perspective, and be able to provide management advice in this context. The major allows you to select from a broad range of subjects including: plant, animal and soil health and production; natural resource and water management; brewing and viticulture; sustainability and change management. You will apply this knowledge in the economic analysis of agribusiness in third-year subjects, including the Agricultural Economics capstone subject: Applied Farm Economic Analysis. This major will provide you with an analytical understanding of economics in agricultural production systems. And you'll also gain skills in management decision making. Your course structure Gain a strong understanding of the principles of agricultural economics and enterprise management. You'll also develop knowledge on 'systems-thinking' approaches to agricultural production chains. And learn how to analyse and interpret agricultural financial data for appropriate decision making. The Bachelor of Agriculture requires the successful completion of 300 points – with subjects usually worth 12.5 points each. You will complete eight subjects, or 100 points of study, in each year of full-time study. In first year, you will complete eight core subjects, gaining a solid foundation in agricultural science with studies in biology, natural environments, agricultural production and life sciences. In second year, you will become familiar with the field of agriculture. You will begin working towards a major by selecting electives that align with your interests and serve as prerequisites for major subjects. You will also be able to spend a semester learning at our Dookie campus. In third year, you will complete your major, continue to develop your skills and knowledge with specialised electives and undertake a project-based core subject that will prepare you for professional practice in agriculture. You can choose to spend Semester 2 of your second year at Dookie campus, where you can observe a wide variety of farming industries first-hand including cropping, livestock and dairy management, horticulture and viticulture enterprises, as well as support industries such as irrigation management, logistics and food processing operations. Completing your major For the Agricultural Economics major you will complete one core subject Farm Management Economics, plus two elective subjects. Careers Economic analysis is vital to the profitability and success of agricultural businesses. The industry relies on economic modelling, business planning and other skills developed in the Agricultural Economics major. Professionals in these areas help individual producers and businesses maintain profits and adapt to changing environmental and business climates by combining agricultural science and economic knowledge to deliver tailored solutions to challenging issues.

为来自中国的学生设计 To be eligible for entry to an undergraduate degree you must fulfill all of the following requirements: Complete the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) or an equivalent Australian or overseas qualification like Australian Year 12, Trinity College Foundation Studies, GCE 'A' Levels, International Baccalaureate. English language requirements: TOEFL - Paper based test - a score of 577 or more including a score of 4.5 in the Test of Written English. Internet based test - a score of 79 and scores of: Writing: 21, Speaking: 18, Reading: 13, Listening 13. IELTS (Academic) - an overall band score of 6.5 or more in the Academic International English Language Testing System (IELTS), with no bands less than 6.0. Pearson Test of English (Academic) - an overall score of between 58-64 inclusive and achieve no PTE communicative skills score below 50.
