This course is for people who work or want to work in a range of aged care facilities and home care situations. You will learn about the aged care sector, how to provide personal care and support for older people and how to interview and communicate with older people within residential facilities and home care situations. You should be aware that you may be required to undergo occupational screening and be vaccinated against infectious diseases as part of the clinical placement in a public or private hospital or medical facility as part of this course. Your teachers will give you further advice. Course Structure To receive the Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) students must complete all core units and, if available, a range of additional units. You may also be eligible for more advanced study outside TAFE NSW.
