When you complete the Certificate IV in Youth Work, you’ll know how to address the social, behavioural, development and health needs of young people in the community. You’ll also have the ability to assess youth at risk, and provide case management and first aid for young people in need. You’ll learn practical skills in areas such as advocacy; effective communication; community education; networking; case work; workplace safety; first aid; empowerment; legal and ethical frameworks; cultural diversity; child protection; mental health; and group activities. This course prepares you for work in a demanding and ever-changing industry, which requires a high level of skill, knowledge and expertise. Experienced teachers, who are experts in the field, will guide you through the program, which involves workshops, online study and industry visits.
