Extend your gaming skills and learn what it takes to succeed in the dynamic world of games design. When you complete the Diploma of Digital and Interactive Games, you’ll be able to develop digital games with confidence and work as an independent specialist or as part of a larger team in the digital gaming industry. The course is designed in a studio based learning environment where groups of students form a developer identity and create projects using studio style applications. Students will analyse and develop a full design concept from inception to completion in a client focused project. Using industry standard software you will design and develop your own indie game prototype to showcase at the conclusion of the course. This will include the design and creation of a 3D game environment in engine that has moving parts and particle effects. You will also design and create game ready characters and props. This course will focus on: Modelling and Texturing: advanced modelling and texturing techniques. (Maya / Zbrush / Photoshop / Substance) Animation: character rigging and animation (Maya / Photoshop) Game Design: Focuses on the design, documentation and development of a prototype game. Students applying for the Diploma course will need to provide a folio that demonstrates the foundation skills equivalent to the Certificate IV level course in Digital and Interactive Games.
